    PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

The European Union and China are two of the three largest global economies; the same is true for their respective trade volumes. China is the EU’s second biggest trading partner after the USA, and the European Union is the biggest trading partner for China.  The two parties are engaged in complex strategic partnership. The average value of their trade is more than 1 billion EUR per day. In the last decade, the economic power of China and its political influences grew to unprecedented dimensions. The increasing economic importance of China means great commercial possibilities for the European Union. Since 2013, an investment agreement has been negotiated. The aim for both parties is to create and maintain an open, predictable, fair, long-term and transparent business environment for investors and their investments. For more information, visit:

The EU and Japan’s relations have taken on speed since the entry into force of the Economic Partnership Agreement in 2019. The connected markets have more than 600 million consumers and jointly generate ca. one third of the world’s GDP (Boym Institute, 2019). The Agreement makes it easier for European enterprises to transport their products to Japan and it sets high standards of safety, job, consumer and data protection and ensures full protection of public services.
